Certification

Vibration Analysis CAT-I

In order to be certified you must:

  • Complete approved training course.
  • Achieve 70% or higher on the certification exam .
  • Have six (6) months of practical vibration analysis work experience, verified by an independent person.

Certification is valid for 2 years.


Vibration Analysis CAT-II

In order to be certified you must:

  • Complete approved training course.
  • Achieve 70% or higher on the certification exam.
  • Have eighteen (18) months of practical vibration analysis work experience, verified by an independent person.

Certification is valid for 2 years.


Vibration Analysis CAT-III

In order to be certified you must:

  • Complete a MIBoC approved training course.
  • Achieve 70% or higher on the certification exam.
  • Have thirty-six (36) months of practical vibration analysis work experience, verified by an independent person.
  • Have previously been certified to VCAT-II.

Certification is valid for 2 years.


Vibration Analysis CAT-IV

In order to be certified you must:

  • Complete a MIBoC approved training course .
  • Achieve 70% or higher on the certification exam (60 multiple choice questions, duration 5 hours).
  • Have sixty (60) months of practical vibration analysis work experience, verified by an independent person.
  • Have previously been VCAT-III certified.

Certification is valid for 2 years.


Infrared Thermography-I

In order to be certified you must:

  • Complete training course .
  • Achieve 75% or higher on the exam (20 multiple choice questions, duration 2 hours).
  • Have twelve (12) months practical work experience in the field of thermography-based machinery condition monitoring and diagnostics.

Certification is valid for 2 years.


Infrared Thermography-II

In order to be certified you must:

  • Complete training course .
  • Achieve 75% or higher on the exam (20 multiple choice questions, duration 1 hours).
  • Have twelve (24) months practical work experience in the field of thermography-based machinery condition monitoring and diagnostics.

Certification is valid for 2 years.


Oil Analysis Level I

MLA I Certification is valid for three years from the date of issue. Individuals certified as Machine Lubricant Analysts (MLA) must recertify their competency every three years. The purpose for recertification is to ensure that certified individuals keep their skills current and up-to-date.

Recertification is achieved by a points system. To recertify by points, individuals must accumulate 15 recertification points over the three-year period and submit a completed application to ICML. Points may be claimed using the following criteria:

Criteria of Acceptability

  • Employment – Employment must be in a field related to industrial lubrication and/or oil analysis.
  • Training/Conference Attendance – Training/Conference topics related to oil analysis, lubrication or other topics important to effective equipment maintenance and management will be accepted.
  • Article Publication – Articles published in journals, magazines, books or proceedings should be related to a topic within the body of knowledge for oil analysis, lubrication or equipment maintenance or management.

All points must be earned during the time the MLA I certification is in effect. Points earned before or after the certification period will not be accepted. Points may be applied to multiple ICML certifications held by the individual, assuming that the points are applicable and approved for each individual recertification.

If a candidate’s only source of recertification points is employment, the extra points required may be earned via participation in employment-related best practices activities, as per below criteria:

  • Lube related failure elimination and/or prevention activities
  • Lube procedure and best practices development
  • Lube program auditing tasks
  • Lube specification development
  • Lube related work management system development
  • Certification is valid for 2 years.

Motor Current Analysis

In order to be certified you must:

  • Complete approved training course.
  • Achieve 70% or higher on the certification exam .
  • Have six (6) months of practical motor current analysis work experience, verified by an independent person.

Certification is valid for 2 years.


Mechanical Seals Level I

In order to be certified you must:

  • Complete training course .
  • Achieve 75% or higher on the exam (20 multiple choice questions, duration 2 hours).
  • Have twelve (12) months practical work experience in the field of Mechanical Seals.

Certification is valid for 2 years.


Mechanical Seals Level II

In order to be certified you must:

  • Complete training course .
  • Achieve 75% or higher on the exam (20 multiple choice questions, duration 1 hours).
  • Have twelve (24) months practical work experience in the field of Mechanical Seals Level.

Certification is valid for 2 years.
